Question - How do you read a green properly?
Answer - It all starts by looking at the general
terrain around the course. On-course reading starts with the
shot into the green. From far away you often can see slopes
better than on the green itself.
A few tips:
- Look for the direction water would run off the green.
- Be aware of the grain.
- Move to the lowest point of the green and look from
there.
- Think about speed of greens, type of grass and wind
speed.
- Perhaps the most important part is near the hole
because as he ball slows down it breaks the most.
- Visualize the break point; that is the highest point
in the putt and where it is going to come down from.
- Finally, try to look at the break point as the target
rather than the hole.

Question - Is there a consensus weight for your
putter?
Answer - Weights are there strictly for your feel.
Some people like a lighter putter on fast greens, but others
will prefer a heavy one. You should try a variety of weight
formulas and see what works for you.
